Why Most Pitch Emails Get Ignored
Brand managers receive dozens of creator pitches every day. Most get deleted within seconds. Why? Because they all sound the same:
"Hi, I'm a content creator and I'd love to collaborate with your brand..."
That opening tells the brand nothing about what's in it for them. Let's fix that.
The Anatomy of a Winning Email
Subject Line
Your subject line determines whether the email gets opened. Keep it specific and intriguing:
- ✅ "Content idea: [Product] for [Your Niche] audience"
- ✅ "[Your Name] x [Brand] — partnership proposal"
- ✅ "Saw your [recent campaign] — here's an idea"
- ❌ "Collaboration opportunity"
- ❌ "Influencer looking for partnerships"
Opening Line
Skip the introduction. Lead with relevance:
- ✅ "I noticed your recent launch of [product] — my audience of [niche] creators has been asking about it."
- ❌ "My name is [name] and I'm a content creator with [X] followers."
The Value Proposition
In 2–3 sentences, explain what you'd create and why it would work:
"I'd love to create a [specific format] showing how [product] fits into [specific use case]. My last similar post drove [specific result] for [previous brand]."
Social Proof
One line of credibility:
"I recently partnered with [brand] on a similar campaign that generated [result]."
Or if you're newer: "My audience engagement rate is [X]%, and my content averages [Y] views per post."
The Ask
Be specific about what you want:
"Would you be open to a quick 15-minute call this week to discuss? I've attached my media kit with full stats and rates."
The Sign-Off
Keep it clean. Include your media kit link.

5 Rules for Follow-Ups
- Wait 5–7 business days before following up
- Keep it short — 2–3 sentences max
- Add new value — mention a new content idea or recent achievement
- Maximum 2 follow-ups — after that, move on
- Never guilt-trip — "Just checking if you saw my email" is fine
Pro Tip
Always include your media kit link. Brands want to see your stats before they reply. A professional, up-to-date KitDeck link gives them everything they need to say yes.
